POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE by Will & Garrett Huxley
Postcards from the Edge is our story, two small town boys surviving against the odds. Being a homo in homogeny was a hard task but we learned at a young age if you can’t assimilate, its time to exaggerate. As Oscar Wilde famously said “Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken”. We took that advise and embellished it. These images span from opposite sides of a sunburnt land. Telling the tale of two lost boys looking for that rare kindred bird of feather to fly together.
Snapshots from a childhood drenched in suburban malaise. Two sparkling dandies making their way through the moist milieu of 1980’s and 90’s Australia. Surrounded by sun filled ‘paradises’ that confirmed everything we weren’t. Searching for glimmers of hope found in Bowie shaped stars in the skies and warm Purple Rain. Dreaming of our very own Xanadu
All works are Giclee printed on fine art archival paper, sold in editions of five and approximately 60 x 40cm
